Overview
Burnout isn't simply "too much work" - it's what happens when the nervous system's demand for recovery consistently outpaces the supply.
This session reframes burnout through the lens of autonomic regulation: why chronic activation without adequate recovery erodes capacity over time, why willpower-based solutions fail, and what real prevention requires at both the individual and team level. Leaders leave with a model for spotting the early stages of burnout - in themselves and their teams - well before it becomes a crisis.
Why you should Attend
Most burnout prevention advice focuses on symptoms after the damage is done - take a vacation, set boundaries, practice self-care. It rarely addresses the underlying physiological process. Burnout is a nervous system depletion pattern, and if you don't understand the mechanism, your prevention efforts will keep missing the mark - for yourself and for the people you lead.
