Overview

Documenting employee behavior is essential for the manager and leader that wants their decisions supported by contemporaneous recording of behavior and performance by the employee.  This is especially true when considering issues of performance management, legal protection, behavioral patterns, training and development, culture and environment and conflict resolution.

This practice is also important for its impact on workplace culture. It impacts morale and engagement, communication style, team dynamics, adaptability and innovation, work ethic and accountability and inclusivity and diversity. The webinar will also address best practices for documentation. The what, when and how of documenting employee behavior will be considered. In addition, the importance of consistency, objectivity, relevancy, clear language and confidentiality will be emphasized.

Tools and techniques for documenting employee behavior will also be studied. This will include developing behavioral checklists, writing incident reports, regular performance reviews, soliciting peer feedback, training documents and setting SMART goals. Finally, legal and ethical considerations will be discussed. This will include compliance with privacy and employment laws. Ethically the importance of fairness, consistency, transparency, respect, dignity and accuracy will be gone over.

Why you should Attend

Those attending the webinar will acquire comprehensive knowledge on how to document employee behavior. Participants will not only learn the legal and ethical requirements for documenting employee behavior but learn practical ways to make sure decisions made are supported.
