Overview

Stress isn't one thing, and not all of it is bad - but most leaders were never taught the difference between stress that sharpens performance and stress that erodes it.

This session builds foundational stress literacy: what's happening physiologically when a team member is overwhelmed versus engaged, how chronic stress reshapes behavior and communication over time, and why traditional "push through it" leadership responses often backfire. Leaders leave with a working model for reading their team's stress signals and responding with interventions that actually restore capacity.

Why you should Attend

Teams don't typically underperform because they lack motivation. They underperform because their nervous systems are stuck in states that make focus, collaboration, and creativity biologically harder to access. Leaders without stress literacy misread these patterns as attitude or effort problems and respond in ways that make things worse. This session gives you the biological fluency to see what's actually happening - and respond in ways that work.

Areas Covered in the Session

  • The biology of stress response - and why "stress" isn't inherently the enemy
  • How chronic activation shows up in behavior: withdrawal, reactivity, disengagement
  • Reading stress signals in your team before they become performance problems
  • Why common leadership responses to stressed employees often backfire
  • Practical interventions that support nervous system recovery, not just morale
  • Building a team culture that treats stress literacy as a leadership competency

Who Will Benefit

  • All Levels but Crucial for Leaders/Managers
